The RED BARON PUB 902 NUUANU AVENUE HONOLULU, HAWAII 96817 The RED BARON PUB The RED BARON The compelling illustration on the cover is, of course, a man who needs no introduction. He is the immortal Baron Manfred von Richthofen, known to his adversaries as the Red Baron ... the foremost air ace of World War I. This young Silesian cavalryman, the son of a professional army officer, was credited with 80 victories in the skies over the Western Front and became Germany's greatest war hero. Kaiser Wilhelm awarded him both the coveted Blue Max and the Iron Cross for his bravery and gallantry. On April 21, 1918 at the age of 25, he was killed in action. His death ended an era in time when men went off to soldiery with a lightheartedness that died with their days . . . and them. But the memory of the Red Baron has lived on.
