Before any of the relevant data pertaining to the United States-Thai relations for the given period can be analyzed or categorized, a definition of terms is immediately necessary. Penetration as it will be used here, refers to that particular political phenomenon by which members of a given national society (U.S.) play an active role in exerting influence upon another national society (Thailand).
