Each student learns in different ways, and learner variability needs to be accounted for in lesson planning. There is also a lot that can be done to reinforce mathematical concepts. For many students, math is not an easy subject. Because of this, educators should plan to teach all children where they are at. Teachers should not be teaching to the middle, followed by an afterthought of differentiation for students in the margins. Mathematics needs to be engaging, accessible, and meaningful.
