    Potentially preventable hospitalizations are those that could be avoided with access to high quality primary care. This mixed-methods study was performed to understand patient perspectives of factors that lead to their potentially preventable hospitalizations related to diabetes and heart disease.

    Cost of diabetes in United States(US) was $245b in 2012, much of which resulted from adverse cardiovascular events. The added cost of pain is unknown. The purpose of this study is to examine the incremental cost of comorbid cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and pain for patients with diabetes mellitus.
